<p>Entrepreneurs who use the words disruptive should replace it with divest. As that is how lots of individuals and organizations will see it. </p> <p>They’ve invested in the current reality to include the measures that have provided them their current, albeit poorer performing, solution. </p> <p>You are asking them to leave the resources they invested in the current solution. This can be a resounding no for many organizations. </p> <blockquote> <p>It is easier to replace a plank in the bridge than build a new bridge</p> </blockquote> <p>This may seem counter-intuitive when you first go out and explore your solution with others. The challenge is if you are so disruptive to an organization it will not be worth the effort to invest from their standpoint. This is why it is said “It is easier to replace a plank in the bridge than build a new bridge”</p> <p>The cost for some innovation is working in the current painful environment because others believe it too expensive to build a better solution.</p>
